On April 7th and 8th the Missions Hub hosted ‘Our Common Faith, Our Uncommon Calling’ in collaboration with a number of Mission agencies. The event profiled the journeys of faith and perseverance of 4 Christian leaders from Asia and Africa. Their testimonies served as encouragement for the participants as they journey forward with their own callings. This event is part of an overall effort at the Missions Hub to support people as they explore God’s missional calling on their lives.
2016 was a wonderful year for the Missions Hub. We saw collaboration deepening between Missions groups, campus Ministries and local Churches. It was exciting to see God at work as 100’s of people attended collaborative Missions Hub events, meetings, prayer day’s and training seminars. Please have a look at our 2016 Annual report for more information.

The Missions Hub is excited to be sparking collaboration between mission groups, campus ministries and the local Church. As part of this, we were thrilled to bring together campus ministry leaders, Knox Church pastoral staff and Alpha Canada’s National Director of Campus Ministries to explore how these groups can work together to bring Alpha to the U of T campus. We love what we do!
On March 17th the Missions Hub hosted an amazing prayer event called U of TOgether. 150+ University students from numerous campus ministry groups came to pray for evangelism efforts at the university and beyond. The event also included breakout sessions where students explored how they can go deeper in their missional callings. It was beautiful to see young, passionate Christians from so many Churches joining together in prayer.
The Missions Hub was overjoyed to host a 1 week intensive Perspectives course from February 17-24th. Perspectives is a dynamic discipleship course, focused on helping Christians to consider their Missional calling as they explore what God is doing around the world. Excellent instructors from across Ontario traveled to Toronto to teach this course to 34 participants. Over 75% of the participants were under 35 and most of them were university aged! The Missions Hub was delighted to be part of the 2017 University of Toronto Missions Week, called the Relevant Series (relevantseries.com). Each day of Missions Week, the Missions Hub hosted between 30 – 45 students, campus ministry staff and well respected apologists for breakfast, worship, prayer and a devotional time here at Knox Church. We were so grateful to be able to support such a passionate, missional group as they led this great outreach. We are thankful to SIM, TEAM, SEND, OMF and Wycliffe Bible Translators for each sponsoring a breakfast during the week.
Looking back on the year that was with the Missions Hub, we are so thankful for how God has been at work in and through our community. It has been an exciting year with great collaborative events like Discerning Your Call, Why Commit Your Life to Christian Mission, & Internship Extravaganza. This year we have also welcomed Chez Johnson to be the new Missions Hub Mobilization Coordinator. In this unique role, funded by 5 Missions agencies and Knox Church, Chez is working to mobilize students at the University of Toronto for Missions. It is exciting work, and we are grateful to be seeing fruit. Thank you so much for being part of the Missions Hub. We look forward to continuing to work together in 2017 and beyond.

Last Sunday, the Missions Hub hosted a group of university students for our 1st ever Internship Extravaganza. Approximately 50 people gathered together at the event to learn about internships in Missions around the world. Presenters from 5 Missions agencies shared inspiring opportunities and encouraged students to step out and experience global missions first hand. We praise God that 17 students expressed interest in receiving more information on specific missions opportunities that they learned about during the evening.
Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming 7 missions organizations to the Social Media & Fellowship lunch on Thursday, Nov. 3rd. This free day of training is part of the Missions Hub Engage! Series which aims to equip and support Missions workers.
The morning session was a refresher on the Twitter training that the Missions Hub facilitated last year. Martin Lamb brought his 19,000-follower-strong wisdom to share. If you would like the notes from Martin’s presentation, we will pass along that info to him.
The Facebook session, led by Darren Lung, Graham Watt and Matt Brodie from Power to Change National Communications Team, helped us all to understand the best ways to use this very important tool. Their slide deck can be downloaded. If you would like more info on future sessions, please email email@example.com.
