Jaegap Chung

Architectural practice

Jaegap is the founding principal of Studio JCI, a Toronto-based architectural practice with over 27 years of experience. Specializing in urban housing, his firm designs more than eight million square feet of residential space annually, ranging from award-winning adaptive reuse projects like Hill & Dale to large-scale transit-oriented communities.

For Jaegap, design is fundamentally a tool for problem-solving. This pragmatic approach is evident in projects like the historic Gibbard District redevelopment in Napanee and Riverview Park, an independent senior living community where he served as architect, developer, and operator.

A frequent speaker and advisor for initiatives like the City of Toronto’s EHON program and the Urban Land Institute, Jaegap champions the revival of Canada’s "missing middle" housing. As a keynote speaker, he draws on a global perspective and decades of hands-on building experience to advocate for resilient, socially impactful cities.
