Dr. Julia Lee
Physician and adjunct lecturer
Dr. Julia Lee is a physician and adjunct lecturer at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto in Canada. She has earned her MD and MPH degrees at the University of Toronto and is currently finishing her MDiv at Wycliffe College. She has served in a wide range of medical capacities in remote areas of Canada, in West Africa, the MENA region, and in the Caribbean. One of her current favourite roles is serving as a volunteer mentor to Christian medical students at the University of Toronto.
Kat Tsao
Certified Child Life Specialist
Kat works as a Certified Child Life Specialist supporting the psychosocial needs of children, youth, and families at a community hospital. Her clinical experience includes Inpatient Pediatrics, NICU, Day Surgery, adolescent mental health, and adult ICU. She completed her BSc at UWaterloo and MSc at McMaster University. Before entering healthcare, she served in cross-cultural missions with OMF and worked with individuals with disabilities in public schools and ministry.
Anna Bowes
pharmacist & Clinical Instructor
Anna is a staff pharmacist at Princess Margaret Outpatient Pharmacy and a clinical instructor in the PharmD program at the University of Toronto. She earned her PhD in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences from McMaster University before completing her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPharm) at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto. In her clinical practice, Anna is privileged to support cancer patients and their caregivers through the daily challenges of their cancer journey, providing care and guidance during some of their most vulnerable times. She is also passionate about pharmacy education and helping shape the next generation of pharmacists.
Dr. Isaac Odame
DOCTor, Professor, Medical Director
Dr Odame is Head of the Hematology Section and Co-Director of the Hemoglobinopathy Programme in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto. He is also Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Medicine at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. From 2013 to 2024, he served as Division Director and Alexandra Yeo Chair of Hematology at the University of Toronto. Dr Odame is Medical Director of the Global Sickle Cell Disease Network at the SickKids Centre for Global Child Health and Chair of the World Coalition on Sickle Cell Disease (WCSCD). He leads implementation studies integrating early SCD diagnosis and management into primary health care settings across sub-Saharan Africa. He also serves as an Associate Editor for Pediatric Blood & Cancer and as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health.
